  • Increased frequency of cleaning for all areas, especially those open to the public, such as lobbies.
  • All bins will have lids to stop the spread of germs in the air from dirty tissues or cloths.
  • Frequent cleaning of all flat surfaces with a disinfectant solution.
  • Use of disposable cleaning items such as mops and cloths.
  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Masks and protective gowns are not required for cleaning staff in non-healthcare settings. However, using gloves while cleaning and handling disinfectant solutions is suggested.
  • Frequent vacuuming with a vacuum that contains a HEPA filter, if possible.
  • All reusable dishes and cutlery must be washed and sanitized then stored covered in cabinets to prevent exposure to any particles.
  • Detergents and cleaning solutions should contain virus-killing ingredients such as:
